Generic Name: Rifampicin

* Description :
Rifaram (Rifampicin) is a semi-synthetic bactericidal antibiotic. Rifaram is active against mycobacteria, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis and M. leprae, Gram-positive bacteria, especially staphylococci. At high concentrations, it is active against most Gram-negative bacteria including Neisseria meningitidis, N. gonorrhoea and Haemophilus influenzae.
* Indications :
* Rifaram is indicated for the treatment of:
- Tuberculosis.
- Meningococcal carriers.
- Leprosy.
* Rifaram is also indicated for prophylaxis of Haemophilus influenzae carriers.
-Haemophilus influenzae carriers (asymptomatic): 20 mg / kg of body weight once a day for four days.
* Presentation *:
Rifaram-150 Capsules: Each capsule contains Rifampicin BP, USP 150 mg. Blister packs of 8 capsules & hospital packs of different sizes are available.
Rifaram-300 Capsules: Each capsule contains Rifampicin BP, USP 300 mg. Blister packs of 8 capsules & hospital packs of different sizes are available.
